FAQs

  • I focus on three main areas: Headshots that feel like you on your best day, Commercial work that shows off you and/or your brand, and Events where I capture the actual spirit of the room.
Since I spent years as a graphic designer, I’m always shooting with the 'final product' in mind—making sure the photos fit your website, your social feed, or your printed materials perfectly.

  • Actually it’s really quite fun. Having your portrait taken can be a very unnerving experience for many people, I know. So beyond knowing how the camera works, a large part of my job is to make sure you’re relaxed and confident so your pictures capture the real you.

  • I’m a GenXer with a dry sense of humor and a very low tolerance for pretension. But I did see all the cool indie bands :-). My goal is to be the calmest person in the room so that you can actually relax and be yourself. I bring a designer’s eye to every shoot, but my real priority is making sure the process feels human. You get professional, high-end results delivered with a 'we’ve got this' attitude that keeps things easy.

  • Click that 'How can I help?' button in the corner (click the menu on mobile) and tell me a little about what you’re looking for. From there, we’ll have a quick, zero-pressure call to make sure we’re a good fit. I’ll answer your questions, we’ll talk through the vision, how the photos will be used, and we’ll figure out a plan that makes the whole process feel easy.

  • I believe in transparency, not 'hidden fees.' Once we talk about the scope of your project, I’ll provide a clear quote so you know exactly what to expect. No surprises—just great photos and a professional experience

  • The easiest way is to click that 'How can I help?' button in the top corner (click the menu first on mobile) it’ll take you to a short form that hits my inbox. If you’re more of a 'direct line' person, feel free to email me at jim@jimdarlingphoto.com. Either way, I’m quick to respond.
